strumstrum is a web blog for the living room guitarist. My name is Brandon Spencer, and I am a professional college student living in the pacific northwest. I like people that create havoc. But most of all, I like people that aren’t afraid to upset some old folks. So naturally, I am intrigued by rock and roll.
I am not a professional blogger, or some kind of corporate ghost blogger. Strumstrum is an independent project made by me. There is music that I like, and music that I don’t like. You will hear more about the music that I like. Naturally, you should read strumstrum with a critical eye, as you should any page on the internet.
You know when you see some kids with their garage door open, jammin’ out? With 2 of them on guitar, one on bass, and one pounding on a duct-taped snare drum? And then one of their dads walks out to show them how to play a Hendrix lick? And then the cranky neighbor across the street calls the cops on them for disturbing the peace? That brief moment when time shifts into some kind of strange, musically-centered universe? That is the strumstrum ethic. That kind of do-it-yourself ideal. I hope you will be inspired to go out and make some music.
