Gibson Reverse Flying V… what?!

Reversed Flying V guitar

Take a V and flip it. That’s right, a reversed flying V! The company with… well… everything to lose… thought it would be a good idea to take the classic Flying V and flip it.

The legendary Flying V electric guitar is known for its distinctive look, stage presence, and uncomfortable feel. First introduced in 1958, the classic has been turned on its head. In a questionable move, Gibson has flipped the iconic V fins and added an asymmetrical headstock, drawing further attention with a vivid Trans Amber finish and gold-plated hardware. With a period correct string-through tailpiece and twin ‘57 Classic humbuckers, this guitar will get you some double-takes, if nothing else.

Maybe there’s a reason they’re only making 400 of ‘em.

Well I bought a couple of these guitars as I thought
    that they may become collectable.
Having played one I think they sound amazing and I will be keeping one for definite. They are also very comfortable to play.
    Looks are not everything!!

Good to hear Gerry! I have never played one myself, but I am very curious about them. I think that you’re definitely right about them becoming collectible. Smart investment.

    hmm…

i would kill to have one of those!

the looks are everything, and that thing tops the charts!

it would even be cool if redoctane came out with a contoller like that for GH3…

that would be the closest i’d ever come to playing one!

Thats insane, I want to try one out. But even if it had the best tone in the world I don’t think I could bring myself to buy one, especially with the mustard finish.

Gibson should’ve used the robot guitar technology on this as a complete prototype then introduced it to the world on a les paul a few months later. That would make this guitar more attractive to me.

Would definitely accept it as a gift though :D

Gerry, I made my name my email for a reason. I want to make a custom guitar that has a shape like this. I need one of these for the guitar I’m building, or else I’ll go from scratch which will take more time and money than I have. Can you help me out? I can pay plenty, probably double what you payed if that’s what it’ll take.

    But I have a question…

How the hell do you play if you are on a chair with this thing?!?
